Not sure how 'tongue in cheek' your comment is but I absolutely identify with part of it.
Cornwall is a great place, and in an ideal world Mrs PtF and I would love to live there - but it's just too damn far to get to and from anywhere on a regular basis; not just for ourselves but for kids, relatives, friends, etc.
Based, as we are, on the North Dorset/South Somerset border we can be up the A303/M3 and into LHR T5 in 90 minutes, or Castle Cary to Paddington in the same time. Idyllic rural life (just what I need after a few months in CAI) coupled with easy access to where it matters.
