I am planning to go on a 6 day vacation in the last week of April. I would be starting from ORD and the 6 days is inclusive of travel time.

I am trying to decide where to go and would love to hear the opinion of experienced FTers.

The activities I like include moderate hiking, nature photography, adventure trips, snorkeling etc. I don't like being in a touristy area and am into resorts.

I am not totally sold on the Carribean and can go anywhere. I was thinking of Carribean to eliminate excessive flight time.

PS: 1) I have only been to Maui outside continental US
2) Not having to worry about safety would be a big plus.
