I was fortunate to find R availability on all legs of the "direct" ORD->(NRT)->BKK route, so I went ahead and booked. Seemed a fair trade...confirmed upgrade at the cost of some differentiated miles.
In true new-UA fashion there is still an issue. I cannot secure a seat assignment for the NRT->BKK leg. I believe part of the on-going trouble with seat assignments on the new system....doesn't know how to handle a "direct" flight with multiple legs.
Anyone else seeing this issue?
