I saw this thread last week and also couldn't find the offer for waived annual fee. Then I had a trip this weekend - though not currently a member, I'm *G and was headed to YYZ so I had access to the Club at ORD.

Ironically, they have advertising all over the United Club advertising the new card, along with a brochure containing an offer code that allows your annual fee waived the first year. It sends you to this site:

http://www.clubcardrsvp.com/

So, you'll have to go to the club to get the offer code, but I'm guessing you could ask them for one even if you can't get in as a member.

Unfortunately I was NOT able to get chase to convert my existing MP Visa card over to the club card, so I had to reapply. But, Chase does make it pretty easy by pre-filling the app when you login with your existing Chase.com credentials.
