If people can't afford to shop anywhere better then Tesco I am sympathetic, but those that choose their crappy quality produce over Waitrose just for the miles are crackers. FWIW I have a reasonably good insight into the standards of most UK retailers...and I wouldn't consider buying fresh meat/veg/fish from anywhere cheaper than M&S. Waitrose is half a notch above, my local shops another half notch. Sainsburys Taste the Difference if marooned in the provinces. Of course, I am lucky to have the means to do so.

No need to get rid of Tesco as a partner in order to bring in Waitrose, Tesco have partnered with beardie recently, so there is no exclusivity agreement there obviously.

As far as sainsburys goes, I would just like to see nectar become convertible to Avios. Surprised it hasn't happened yet to be honest.
