Delta & Reserving Bulkhead Seats
I have (RLS) Restless Leg Syndrome. It is very uncomfortable sitting in a seat with very little leg room. When sitting in a bulkhead seat I can stretch out my legs and make for a more confortable flight.
When I try to book a bulkhead seat when making reservations online it shows the bulkhead seats not available. If I call Delta reservations and try to get a bulkhead seat I am told I have to arrive a hour or so early and ask at the reservation desk for a bulkhead seat.
When catching a connecting flight I don't always arrive a hour or so early. When I do ask for a bulkheasd seat at time of checkin (regardless of time I arrive) I am told that all these seats have already been assigned. With the flight being full obviously the seats would be assigned to someone.
On one flight I had a seat behind a bulkhead seat. During the flight I engaged the person in the bulkhead seat infront of me in a conservation. He had no disability/no connection with the airlines/booked his flight only a week before flight/had not requested a bulkhead seat nor did he need one.
Question(s): 1)Why is it so difficult to get a hulkhead seat? 2)Is there a easier/bestway approach to get a bulkhead seat? I have a statement from a Doctor requesting that I be given extra leg room.
Thanks for any info/imput!
