I guess your expectations are wrong about C class within Europe.... You could have know it was just the same seat with the middle seat that remains empty...
I have always found the price of the Business Savers a little too expensive. But if you don't hold status you also get business check-in and access to the lounges. That's worth something.
And since it was included in my longhaul Z-class fares, I kinda liked the extra miles. But those are "enhanced" each year it seems...
