Agree- in the cosmic scale of things 3 hrs aint bad, and you were in F. I have taken 3 hr delays on LH, and have had SQ diverted to very inconvenient airports because of typhoons resulting in 5 + hrs of delays. While I complain about UA's treatment of GS etc, I will be the first to point out that US maintenance personnel take their work seriously, and equipment sometime fail prematurely. When I began my career in the aerospace industry (no longer there now) I was told- imagine your family will be flying on one of these birds, do your work- design, maintenance etc- accordingly.
