By the way, not to stir off topic, the so called vast majority of people on AC forum don't want a moderator is inaccurate. Those people who said this has no facts to back it up of late.

In fact, I conducted an informal survey of my own and among the 33 people sample, about 18 answered and more than half are in favor of such idea. That also includes a member of Talkboard. So let's be clear on this.</font>
Guava, as you mostly hang out in the AC forum, you may not be aware that this was not a 'choice' or 'vote' option for ANY Forum.

Randy did not poll each Forum and ASK the regulars to vote on whether a Moderator was required or not. Most forums would likewise have opted not to have them is my guess.

However that was not how it worked. My *general* thoughts on Moderators in so many Forums are pretty much in line with Ken hAAmer's above, but they are here in all major Forums except AC, so such is life. They take away a lot of time consuming work from Randy, and that I am sure is something he is pleased about.

My guess is that the only person who will have any vote that counts on the matter is Randy, and these were his most recent published thoughts on Moderators in the AC forum:

Air Canada has become one of the most emailed complaints to me recently. In the last week I've spent more time there than with any other forum. From members using the 'f' word to other name calling and topic straying accusations.

Seems to me that a moderator might actually be necessary there. In all other cases moderators were assigned by volunteer, not by need. This may be the first where I actually will go looking to appoint a moderator in Air Canada.</font>
