Well, this is certainly proof that things never get boring on the AC forum. I have to agree with KH's point that self-policing is an extremely effective way of threads dying a natural death.
With all due respect to the various parties involved, I don't quite see how anyone is getting hurt. This community consists of thousands of different people, who can only be expected to have a wide range of views on any number of issues. Policing these issues is a slippery slope and unlikely to please everyone. Even if you did police people's views, you wouldn't actually stop them, just prevent them from being made known here.
Life is full of different characters and, if you've decided that you don't like someone or something, ignore it. Where there are no flames, things eventually get boring and settle down by themselves.
