Looks like E are pretty sol, and I am moving my wife up to SE for next year.
Without SE status, AC and AP are pretty pointless.
Funny thing happened last year in my flight YYZ-HKG:
Me: SE, eUG at gate
Wife and kids: all E, requested but not eUG
Father in law: P, did not request but after boarding and taking his seat and op up before take off.
I wondered whether E means anything at all if P can trump them at op up!
How many people were on one booking? Shouldn't happen this way I suppose but it may have made the difference if your Father in law was on a separate PNR on his own.
