Is it common among you Bay Area residents to refer to Northern California as "NoCal"?
Most emphatically not.
The most common terms for the northern regions are:
"Bay Area"
"Sacramento"
"Tahoe"
"Central Valley"
"North Coast'
"Monterey" or "Carmel area"
Once in a long while you might hear
NorCal, but never NoCal. That sounds like a diet drink.
