Avek claimed (amongst other things) that UA tried to hire Gordon Bethune. I doubted such a claim, and asked him to verify it with something other than his word, which is not exactly accepted as gospel by most FlyerTalkers. He responded by posting a link to an article wherein Bethune claimed (sprinkled in amongst other wild claims) to have been offered the helm of UA, and I acknowledged that avek had the story at least
partially correct.
Commendably, avek has reduced contentiousness as well as the number of his posts in the UA forum since his return from his two-week timeout. The result of his timeout and his lack of posts in recent days has resulted in a better, more civil, more informative UA forum, one that is not wrapped around the axle of troll posts intended to paralyze discussion by the proclamation of bizarre opinions and false statements.
Of course, Delta Airlines FlyerTalkers, who've recently been branded by the boy as a bunch of "riff raff" that need to be gotten rid of, might think differently about the benefits of his presence there.
Personally, I think it would be best for all concerned if he confined
all his worshipful paeans to Gordo in the Continental forum and his disruptive troll posts to the Aeroflot forum. Fewer people are bound to be agitated as a result.
