Or else they could allow folks to upgrade at the counters using vouchers.. I fly this route weekly now and there are always many folks wanting to use their vouchers but mostly denied..
Another option to upgrade their golds / plats to better seats but not open it for everybody and give Y food ( since thats the only difference in service I guess ) ?
I mean, there are many ways to utilize vacant business class seats that open the whole C cabin to everyone..
