Have ex-TPE ticket, D class. Departing Saturday 31st to SYD. Problem first leg, TPE-HKD is waitlisted still, others have cleared. All cabin are full. can't exercise Diamond's J-cabin ggurantee cuz ticket purchased this morning for tmr departure. If the first leg don't clear this all falls apart.
Question: Can I exercise my Economy class gurantee (still 24hours to go) to force myself into Economy cabin using "D" class ticket? This is my stop-loss to ensure first segment is used, so at least I have confirmed economy on first leg, and waitlist for D-class till departure.
Any thoughts? MPC thinks not possible and refused. i'm calling another agent.

I have been told I was going to fly Y class on a D ticket (although a spare J seat opened up at the last minute and I ended up getting a seat), but never have been in your type of situation where the whole plane was full. Please confirm back what your experience is.
Also, I think you might be slightly confused on the J DM guarantee - I'm pretty sure you can't use it for D or I class, only J/C for the DM guarantee.
