I think you are not making a good argument for being so "exclusive".

What I get from this is a "I want to go to a trendy restaurant followed by a night out at the clubs and I'm worried that some of you folks might cramp my style" event.

If that is the case, simply post what you meant and be done with it.

It is your DO. You can plan whatever you want.

We have had in the past singles DOs, GLBT DOs, DOs that included expensive dinners, DOs revolving around heavy alcohol consumption, DOs that required a visa to visit a certain country, DOs that required flying a certain airline, DOs that appealed to a certain age group, and DOs that appealed to everyone.

You can't please all the people all the time. What disappoints me is that rather than posting what it seems you meant, you put an arbitrary cap on who can/can't attend a DO based on age.

Just a friendly suggestion and it is worth less than the two cents I'm putting in. Pick your city (NYC, LA, whatever) and pick the places you want to go.

Then post the DO on a new thread without sticking a qualifyer about age, gender, ethnicity, sexual preference, etc. on there.

Those who like the activity will come... those who won't will not.

You might just be surprised at who you meet. And I'm willing to bet you will get a much warmer response without several mocking threads posted too.

On the other hand, if you are so exclusive to say that you have no interest meeting or hanging around anything but a certain category of FTers then you might want to just go ahead and be explicit about that too... and save the rest of us the trouble.

PS... I know many FTers who are *almost* old enough to be my parents... and all can stay up later than me, outdrink me, and are much more energetic on the dance floor than I am.
