Just so I understand how this would work...
- I continue to book 5 stays under my name under the PLAT5 code to maintain my existing platinum status for 2013.
- I register my wife for FPC, and book some stays under her name until she reaches Preimier status.
- Get my wife a supplementary Amex Platinum card.
- After receiving her Premier certs, we register her for PLAT5, and then I assume would have to book 5 more nights under her name, or can the PLAT5 be applied retroactively after we ask them?
If FPC grants early recognition of her benefits, we'd end up with 2 sets of Platinum certs and 1 set of Premier certs to use before Feb 28, 2013, and then 2 sets of Platinum certs for the 2013 year? I also suppose we need to complete this early enough in 2012 that FPC still grants the early status recognition, or we won't get the benefit of the extra set of certificates?
Point 1, its 5 nights (not necessarily stays)
Point 2, its 5 nights (not necessarily a couple of stays), but ensure that your have the supplementary Platinum card on hand prior to the stay. FPC will not retroactively credit, nor will the hotel refund and recharge to a desired cc. Charge nights onto Platinum card.
Point 3, Again this should be done prior to staying the nights on point 2
Point 4, Correct, ensure that the certs are electronically posted on FPC online account, before quoting Plat5.. The point you ask to implement Plat5 promo, is the point you become Platinum member and receive certs.
Be sure to choose your Passion certs once you become Platinum. I don't see this advertised clearly, only a banner when you happen to login online.
Be sure on your or your wife's profile the nights are charged to Aeroplat or Amex Plat (offer only good for Canada). Charging to Gold Amex will not count towards Plat5 promo.
