About 15 years ago, on my honeymoon flight from LAX to PPT, the lame airline (Corsair? some little French airline) wasn't pre-assigning seats. When we weren't given seats together and I said I was on my honeymoon, the checkin agent rolled her eyes and said "EVERYONE is on their honeymoon on this flight."
Yeah right. Flight full of kids and grandparents etc.

After take-off, I engineered an 8-person seat shuffle so we could sit together.

side-note: 2 rows ahead of us, the FA slapped in a bassinet below the storage bin of the aisle seat (seat C) - get this - for a family sitting in the middle seats. No way would I have taken someone else's bassinet over my head for a long TPAC.
