While I haven't had any seat assignments actually disappear, I have had them change without my requesting them. And I'm afraid I've seen other posts to that effect as well.

It's lousy, I know, but all I can think of recommending is that you check your seat assignments frequently. If you monitor this forum and see fewer complaints about various glitches in coming weeks, perhaps you can then check less often...but keep checking to at least some extent.
