Well today I went in and discovered that all of my seat assignments on an upcoming trip have been DELETED!!!! While I was able to get close to my seats back, this actually REALLY worries me. I have a trip later in the summer where my family is on a separate itinerary and it is critical I sit by them as they are 2 and 4 years old! This better not be happening! Is this happening to others?
In my experience such things happen for one of three reasons.
1) Plane change re-configuration.
2) Non-rev dead-heading to next assignment took your seat.
3) Seats blocked off as rest area for FA's & Crew.
I've also heard assigning an Air Marshall can do that as well, but that usually happens the day before or day of a flight.
If I may ask, where are you sitting in which cabin? And where are you going?
