The call was for approximately 20 minutes. I am taking the hotel's word that it was a local long distance call. It was within the same area code, but I have no way of knowing the calling area since I am not currently there.
I'm not so much bothered by the cost, if I messed up then it's on me. I just think it should be a pretty easy task for them to account for the exact cost of the call.
Is it too much to ask to be provided with the rate list that is kept next to the phone? To be provided with the rate on that list that my call qualified for? To be provided with the exact duration of the call that they are billing me for?
Then I could clearly see that I talked for X minutes at Y rate and my charge was XY dollars.
