Recently ran into this in two separate hotels, different chains. You get a wireless account number that you use to access the internet. But the trick is that you can only connect with one device at a time. So, if your laptop is connected, forget about using your tablet or cellphone. Only ONE (1) device at a time.

The "easy" way to get around it is with a WISP travel router.
