Roundtrip vs. One Way Award Bookings
Am I missing something? It seems to me that booking roundtrip awards, especially if you don't find the right mix of classes or routings, makes it more difficult to make changes as availability opens up?
For example, I book a roundtrip award that is coach outbound (because business is not available) and business return. If business opens up on the outbound, in my experience, agents have to redeposit the entire award in order for the correct miles to be taken out...and when that happens there is no guarantee that the already previously confirmed business award on the return will re-appear in inventory since it has to be re-booked all over again...kind of like a domino effect.
Am I missing something? Miles are the same as are the taxes if I just book two one-ways...
