Frustration comes from expectations not being met, if you go into a hotel expecting a slower connection, you won't be disappointed. I travel with a hotspot for when the hotel internet isn't doing what I want it to do or it costs money or whatever, so I really don't have any complaints.

I think quite a few hotels are still running the same wireless setup they had a dozen years ago when two people a night were using it, not five or six devices in each room. They are probably splitting a few channels off their T1 line the phone system is using out to all the rooms.

Stinks, but they are not in the internet business, and know even if they charge, even if they have slow service, people will still stay there.
