Being smaller it has more of an island feel to it especially as you have to take the ferry to get there......it's also less touristy. Don't get me wrong Skye is lovely as are all the islands. If you are going to be hiring a car Skye actually might be a better bet due to its size and easier access using the bridge.

Truth be told you could go almost anywhere in Scotland and enjoy great scenery and walks if that's what you're after.
