JEFFJAGUAR mentions. As I always examine foreign transactions on the spot, and never accept dcc, it is possible that the merchants 'voided' rather than 'reversed' the charge. I remember especially one check-out at the Westin Beijing Financial Street hotel where the receptionist argued vigorously, but gave up when I said I wouldn't accept the charge and would challenge it if it appeared on my bill. I actually ripped up the charge receipt he gave me to sign, but he really didn't seem to care too much by that point.
