Kokonutz, integration is a long term goal- I suppose.
Two caveats:
1-As long as there is a differential in how gays and straights are treated, there'll be ghettoization of gay life. It's physics.
2-Some have a problem with complete integration. For a long time, being gay was associated with being a dissident, with being against the mainstream. A good thing.
How does this relate to the new proposed forum? This country has always been more like a fruit salad than a melting pot.
Some might be reading diversity at the scale of the individual (the melting pot concept). Some might be in love with the concept of a diversity of communities (the fruit salad, -don't event think about what you're thinking about

.
I think, from a thermodynamics standpoint, the fruit salad concept is more stable in a highly inhomogeneous universe.
