Great point, you got me thinking.
There's else like FT available, and there's nothing like a GLBT FT forum available either. Having one would definitely be a good way of attracting more frequent flyers and flight attendants.
At the same time, it could also help raise the profile of FT in the travel industry. Research has shown that gays tend to travel more often and spend more money on leisure trips than straight people. As such, airlines, hotels and rental car companies are actively courting gays. But, while the corporate headquarters may be involved in advertising campaigns trying to attract gays, the front line staff of travel-related companies may be turning gay travelers off with their poor customer service skills (e.g. a hotel front desk clerk hassling gay travelers checking in), etc..
FT has already been written about in major newspapers. But, the more press and industry visibility FT has, the more power we gain as a group to get our opinions heard by the companies we discuss.
