I actually just got back from a stay at the St. Regis Doha over the weekend. I'd booked when it was available and although it was pre-opening, I believe the GM, Hal Philp and Guest Services Manager Carrie O'Reilly allowed me to stay anyway.
The trip was fantastic, staff wonderful and the hotel is beautiful.
I'm way too jetlagged to make a full report, but I will post a trip stay in the next couple days.
