Well, technically you can't use both promos on the same flight. You should be able to have both for each leg on the same PNR, say LGA-DFW-SFO-DFW-LGA, if you have a CA/IL/TX address AND were targeted for this promo or if AA's IT glitches and gives it to everyone despite their apparent intent.
