That's my guess too. In addition to being unable to help out in this LAX situation, they couldn't help me out on another issue while in IAH. I thought the best/brightest agents that knew their way around the system were in the Clubs.
That was my experience at the UC on 3/3 and 3/4. The agent couldn't help with any of the issues, despite the fact that there was a CO agent sitting right next to her. They both directed me to call the 1K line. It had me wondering why would anyone pay for membership if they can't/won't help.
