I dont know if thats true or not but remote stands impart significant extra costs on BA. On a jetty BAA provide the means of access to aircraft, on a remote stand BA provide both steps and buses and their operators. They also need to pay for high lifts for less able passengers that they dont on jetty stands. 6 buses, 2 high lifts and a set of steps and the staffing probably cost BA more than £4.59 per pax. Perhaps a remote stand surcharge is in order
