I fly to get to my destination, not to shop. I carry all my luggage on, so the less the better. Why on earth should I buy something on a plane and then lug it home hundreds or thousands of kilometers? Almost anything can be purchased online nowadays and delivered to your home for free or at a nominal charge. Groceries are just about all I buy at brick & mortar stores.
We are all different.
We fly to shop
- The things we buy [mainly, but not exclusively, clothes for ourselves and the small members of the extended family] are infinitely cheaper in the USA [30%>90%], which is why we travel with 2 cases [one of which contains 2 sports bags] and take full advantage of BA's generous baggage allowance.
- We do not have to lug them anywhere - there are people called porters and baggage handlers who do that, and the thousands of kilometres are lugged in the hold of a BA aircraft

- Finally, delivery to JER from on-line retailers is annoyingly difficult - they either don't deliver here at all, or there's an argument about them trying to charge UK VAT at 20%, or the shipping costs are silly money.
In many ways I envy your options. In others I certainly don't
