When you are given credit for stays that you are not entitled to, you don't really want to make waves and have them looking into your account....

Perhaps nobody TOLD you that 2 stays on the same night shouldn't get you credit for both, but it is certainly discussed elsewhere in the Starwood forum, and I trust it is covered in the T&C's.

I wouldn't call you "stupid", as you suggest, but I would suggest that you're argument might be called that. Because the system has the short-coming of not recognizing you've stayed in two hotels on the same night doesn't negate the rules of the program. The safety net that Starwood has, the research dept., is just doing their job, and can't be blamed for sticking to the rules. Play by them and the program is pretty good!
