I recently decided to change from UA to Asiana airline's mileage program based on reading info here at FlyerTalk. I took a flight last week from Japan to Canada on Air Canada and the mileage was credited to my UA account. Is it possible to get the miles on Asiana if I send them the boarding passes? Is it possible to change the credit to Asiana instead of UA?
I realize this is a long-shot.
Thank you in advance.
This would only work if you asked for credit to Asiana and AC messed up. If you can show a boarding pass with your Asiana number then you have a chance. If you're just changing your mind now, then it's almost definitely not possible.
There have been a few instances where I have changed FF #s at check-in (I made the reservation online and it defaulted to the FF plan I had in my profile, which was not the one I wanted to earn miles with) and had both credit, but that is the exception rather than the rule and I really get nervous when it happens because I don't want to cheat the system (and later face the consequences).
