On flight UA 982 yesterday from IAD to BAH. Last minute switch to an old bird caused all sorts of seating issues. No video for anyone the entire flight, my seat was broken in First, and taking over 90 minutes to board caused me to miss my connection in Bahrain. Purser gave me a skykit. I have several options to choose from; does anyone know if the "rewards" are any richer depending on which issue is selected?

Interesting 90+ minute board. I was upfront with only 4 of the 12 seats occupied. I noticed at least 5 or 6 empty seats in business. I heard lots of complaints before and during boarding about new seat assignments separating companions with economy full. 90 minutes into boarding the GAs were still on the PA with questions such as "If Mr. Smith is on the plane, can you ring your call button?" The pilot came on the PA twice, apologizing for the delays and at one point saying he had no idea why it was possibly taking so long close the doors.

Once seated, I asked the FA why they didn't move their best business passengers to first and their best economy passengers to business, making at least 20 people happy about upgrades and creating space to reseat companions together in economy. She said that is what she would have done, but the new "Continental" procedures do not allow it. Strange.
