Call again. They can add the number. Often upgrades are assigned before guests check in and you'd want to have it on file. You can also Email the hotel with the Marriott reservation # and ask them to add it.
Thank you very much. I just called again and the agent added the number to the reservation and it does show up when I login.
Wish I had known that I was not getting any points as I may have booked the room separately.
