Be wary of doing anything which could be construed as fraud. It would be difficult to defend a second use of points shortly after the first use.
If you are comfortable in using the points a second time; let some meaningful time elapse until you may be confident that the points are most unlikely to be charged and, if later picked up, could be easily explained as an oversight.
