Please remember that only WN (Southwest) and B6 (jetBlue) still offer complimentary 1st piece of checked baggage. If holding a separate ticket, OP would have to pay for each piece of baggage while travelling with any other airline.

Also WN flies to MDW and not to ORD. IMHO MDW is much better with Downtown area access.

Plus WN still serves snacks on complimentary basis.
