If they deliver the pudding with the starter, it sort of invites you to have cheese aswell as you aren't going through the pudding OR cheese routine.
The last time I had this ex-BOS, I duly asked for cheese and it wasn't a problem although the steward acted almost as though he didn't know there was cheese stocked at all. So it doesn't look as though the crew are prompted to offer cheese at the end of the service.
So it's odd that the meal service should take so long as it is, trays out (no choice of starter

), pause, serve choice of mains, pause, tea or coffee, end. Clearly there are awkward sods like me who want different wines with different courses, top ups, and then CHEESE aswell, with port, then a coffee and brandy and extra chocs...
