I would recommend the deals section of the major airline sites. I know they aren't the cheapest fares you can get but they aren't too bad for really last minute travel. Usually the fare come out mid-week, Wednesday or so, and are valid for travel on the weekend only. Not all cities/locations are on sale during any given week so you may not turn up anything useful.
