I am sorry you were disappointed in getting an old config 777, but I disagree with this. Give me an older F seat over the new C any day, any route.

I thought AA gave 8 upgrade certs which could be used on any fare, which is better than what UA offers. Would you explain what is lacking from the AA offering. I am not an AA expert, but have been looking at them lately (along with a lot of 1Ks, I suspect). If there is a downside here, I would like to learn about it.

And as an overall comment to the thread, I can hardly equate getting a C class seat by using an upgrade as a waste. Sure, the new C is better than the old C for most, but I enjoyed many TPAC / TALT in the old C and greatly prefer it over E+
