There was a site recently, cant remember which one, that had cheaper rooms pretty much across the board, but a cancellation policy of 1 day prior to IHG's, thus rendering a Best Flex claim impossible. Upon checking further, this policy was for every IHG property I checked. All other chains had matching cancellation times.

IMO this was done as a way to totally eliminate Best Flex claims.
