What class are you flying back to the uk and how is it paid ?
Reason for asking is that if it's cash booking you can quite often get decent upgrade prices in MMB and that will give you the tier points of the cabin flown, but not if your flying on avios

I am flying back WT+, it's after that I will need the 175 points. Is Silver worth £300 off quick to try and acquire?
To give you a bit of background, I travel lots during the year with work, but always on cheap economy tickets so the tier points are hard to build up. The 100% miles boost is appealing, especially with lots of trips to the West coast of America, as well as Australia once a year.
