Anyone have a clue why the tax/fees change with departure time for the same airport? I'm booking a flight to MCO from YWG - seat sale now on routes through YOW and YYZ for the cheapest price ($174). There are 5 different flight pairings, the only difference is the flight from YOW to YYZ, and the AC rescue fund contribution is $125 for 4 of them, but for the one at 1600, it's $90. I don't really care which flight I take so I'm going for the one with the flight at 1600. It just seemed really weird to me.
Fuel surcharges aren't charged seperatly on North American flights, so it's something else and not a "rescue fund". You need to compare and figure out in the detail fare breakdown where the differences are. Most likely AIF or HST.
