My experience flying Aeroflot three times between Moscow and St. Petersburg is that when you get to the ticket counter they will frequently reprint your boarding pass after checking all your documents. My DL FF number has never appeared on that pass and when I give the agent my card they never seem to be able to enter the number in the record. They just give up and apologize.

Upshot is you have to keep the boarding pass because the miles will never post automatically to your DL account. You need some kind of verification, like the Aeroflot ticket number and such to send to DL.

Never had a bad experience otherwise on Aeroflot; nice Airbus planes. Great crews if a tad bit impersonal, flight crews rarely smile and are all business but that is just the culture they are emerging from. Never rude, but not what you would consider warm.

One of the best moments of my life was back in late January when flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg. It was snowing outside and as I went to my seat and the very nice sound system, far better than DL's, was playing the Nutcracker Suite. A true Russian moment ... gently falling snow, heavy grey clouds, and wonderful classical music filling the cabin.
