Sounded too good to be true to me as well, so I sent them and email. The following is their reply:

Thank you for your interest in the PointsUniverse.

Currently, you can use PointsUniverse to simply track your miles/points
from
various programs in which you are enrolled. However, in the future we
plan
to allow our members to take those miles/points and transfer them to
award
points to be used in other ways. Please keep an eye on our web site for
when
this will be available.

Our site mentions being able to transfer and convert points, however,
it can
be a bit confusing. At this time, if you earn points from one of our
Affiliates such as Enews.com, you can combine and transfer those points
to
be used with a different Affiliate.

If you have any further questions about PointsUniverse, please feel
free to
visit our web page at <http://www.pointsuniverse.com/> and click on the
HELP
link at the top to see all our help files, or you may email us with
questions at [email protected]

Subject: Program questions

Dear Sirs:
I just joined your program and have a question
regarding combining points to earn awards. On your
help page you say:

"Question: Can I combine more than one point type to
get a free plane ticket?

Absolutely. The benefit of letting PointsUniverse
manage your loyalty programs
is that we do the work of combining these various
points for you into one common
currency. You can also use your combined balances for
many of the PointsUniverse
merchant sites as well. "

Does this mean that, for example, I can combine my
5000 Alaska Airlines miles, my 15000 Delta miles, and
my 8000 AAdvantage miles to get the "Round Trip
Airline Ticket Free round trip within 48 contiguous
United States" which costs 28000 AwardPoints? If so,
how are you able to do this. It sounds too good to be
true and in most cases that means it is. I would
happily give you all of my private frequent flier
account information if this works, but I am a little
worried about doing so. Any information you can
provide that would validate your concept would be
appreciated. Thank you for your help and good luck
with your company.
