I suspect it is poorly worded:
The operator said the new first class layout "reflects an airline with a row of four seats, two seats on either side separated by an aisle in the middle facing either forward or rearward direction of travel".
I suspect they don't mean "row of four" but more like a group of four created by a row one seat on each side of the aisle both forward facing and the next row of one seat on each side of the aisle aft facing so that the four seats allow up to four passengers to sit together and see and converse with each other easily. The first class seating should be wider and roomier and this would not be possible if a row comprised two adjoined seats on each side of the aisle the same as the lower class cars.
