Sorry, I didn't mean to pick on you, but it seems that I'm constantly warning people to avoid pay with miles tickets except under very circumstances and only if they understand the conditions. I don't understand the source of the constant rumor that they earn miles and
even MQMs.

NW had a PerkChoice benefit that allowed you to purchase one direction and use miles for an award ticket in the other direction of a RT. In that program, you were treated like a revenue passenger for redeemable miles, status miles, upgrades, etc. on the revenue portion and only the part paid with miles was treated like an award ticket. Sigh....those were the good old days.
