I am also noticing that if Y is sold out or close to it, the V inventory seems to drop as well. I am on ATL-FAY in a few days (not a hub-to-hub or elite heavy route) and there is no V inventory with 14 of 16 open seats in F. EF says the flight has the following ticket available "F9 P4 A0 Y4 B0 M0 H0 Q0 K0 L0 U0 T0 E0". It would make sense for DL to hold back the UGs seeing as most last minute tickets would be paid F (or P).
